So in the past ive posted here about my internet troubles, I have a dsl connection. They have been out here 100x and have fixed everything from the nid all the way to where the copper starts. New modem. All of that what could be the issue. I pinged google.com and at certain point it would spike to 500 the tech said everything looked fine on their end.

It's probably the card pair you are on at the DSLAM/VRAD to the CO then from the MDF at the CO to the Web. It's an intermittent problem.

Jeez, it sounds so complicated the tech honestly said he couldn't fix it because the way it occurs makes it seem like there is no issue at all.

I need to know what to say to them I guess in order for them to fix it. He was out here today and showed me on his phone the statistic's of everything and it was indeed good I can send some stuff hold up

Take a look here please. To note the ping fluctuates to 35ms all the way to 500ms I use Apex Legends in Game reporting tool But I also have this reporting in CMD from pinging google. So the game is reporting accurate information.

I have dealt with this for 1 year and I almost want to stop gaming due to this.

Are you actually experiencing it in game?

Make sure AV, autoupdates for anything are completely disabled during gaming. Otherwise you may need to be swapped to another card/card pair, but you may want to report findings to game maker.

You thought about lan parties maybe?

What's av?

Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), video-ready access device (VRAD), central office (CO), main distribution frame (MDF)?

I... think

:respect::lovetpu:
Thanks, all is not really clear now... Now I know what they are at least!:D:confused::D

IMHO it's at the WTF R U talking about? View attachment 251403
Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer(DSLAM) RT-Remote Terminal-Fiber to the Node (FTTN) or Central Office(CO) also known as the Telephone Exhange or ISP, based aka copper all the way down. MDF is Main Distribution Frame which is at the CO.

VRAD is Video Ready Access Device (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line-Fiber to the Node)

Node is the Curb Cabinet.

Basically if you have any form of DSL you want it to be Remote Terminal (Curb Cabinet-FTTN DSLAM/VRAD), not CO based. Last mile is copper (to the home).

I used to work for AT&T so i know the topology of DSL services.

DSL can be Asyncrhronus Transfer Mode(Yesteryears) or Internet Protocol Based(today)
