A test like Speedtest.net doesn't take into account the distance from your computer to the servers of the web pages you visit every day. For example, some popular shopping websites that are super popular in my country only have servers in China and your connection must therefore constantly bridge many routers to get to China.
That's why I think it's time for a more realistic test that you'll find on the following page.
You may choose the nearest server and use http://wikipedia.org/ as URL.
What result do you get and on which hardware, browser and connection?
