is it possible to play tv channels through dish network on a computer monitor? like a regular one, cuz i dont want to buy another tv haha. im assumin that if it is in fact possible that i would need some cable converter?

usually any TV tuner will accomplish what you want. Issue with dish network is a scrambled signal, you need the box to unscramble each channel. Essentially the box runs the channels, the TV tuner handles the input signal. You can spend like 20-30 on a USB input tuner, closer to 40-5- for a PCI-e input tuners. Hope that helps.
