Like this article here for example, mentions Last of Us Remastered is on PS5 for free... well I own a PS5... I don't see it in my library? How do I get it for free?

Its under PSN. Every month you get a few free games just like the PS4 and PS3 before it. With the PS5 its like 15 extra as well that just stay on for X amount of time. Remember none of it you own forever. Once your PSN lapse, you cannot play them anymore.

Thank you. I understand now. I don't plan to do PS Plus, so no freebies for me. I am a single player only gamer... so just no need for PS Plus really. Maybe I will if I find a good sale on it.

I will try in November during Black Friday, maybe I can get the $119.99 one year PS Plus membership for $99 or something. Worth waiting and seeing, as it's not a big deal to me either way.

hmm this is a good deal actually. I just looked it up. $119 for one year isn't too bad I guess, considering how much you get. well I just wasted about $40 buying 4 of these $9.99 greatest hits ps5 games. oh well.

And I have over 100 physical games on the shelf from the PS4 era never played. I got busy with life and never played it. Even the PS5 games I have are just installed and never actually played. So you didn't do so bad buying 4 games haha.

Yeah, I am going to make a deal with myself, I don't get the annual pass for PS Plus unless it goes on a good sale, or I finish all 4 of these games first. Seems like a good deal to make myself so I don't waste money.

That's a lot of games mate! I understand though, I have a bunch of backlog on Steam, the problem is... I want an OLED gaming screen before I start playing any games. I just can't go back to regular gaming after experience OLED gaming.

I have PS4 from launch, one year after, i went into the PSN ecosystem to try it out.
I usually buy in offers (15months instead of 12, €30/€40 deals recently etc) so essentially is 4€/month.
It's very good deal because if you check what you get in annual base it's worth it but you don't own anything!
I have a 4TB and it isn't anywhere enough to store the games, so in PS5 case with SSD it will be a problem (it's impractical with my internet (100Mbps) with the speed that PSN has (up to 32Mbps at best) to delete and redownload frequently if i feel the need to visit a game again and buying a fast 8TB HDD to store all the free games on the lifecycle that PS5 will have plus an SSD expansion is expensive.
I'm already late for PS5 train, If Sony launches a PS5 Pro in 2024 i may buy it if it has good performance upgrade vs PS5 (2X or more), more importantly it's equally or more quiet and the price remain the same just in order to maintain and expand the games library.

you can play this game forever. sometimes you just got to dive in and enjoy yourself. on the same hand, if you are happy with what you have and still find enjoyment from it, then indeed there is no reason to upgrade.

i skipped ps3 and ps4, so I have a ton of sony exclusive backlog to catch up on... its going to be a lot of fun for me having a PS5, but my situation is different,

The only "free" game that came with my PS5 was Returnal and it was a physical copy. If there's a promo bundle then it also comes with physical copy. The PSN "free" bundle is only for PSN subscribers. I don't use that because I don't play online games and I always try to buy physical copies so I can sell them when I no longer need to play the actual game. I only buy digital copy if it's on super sale or there's no way to obtain physical copy for a reasonable price.

Oh, absolutely, from PS3 era (2006) till now you had xbox or PC or didn't play games very much?
I'm was tied to PlayStation mainly because i like JRPGs or Japanese strategy RPGs but now days it's much more difficult to find games that have "heart"!
