Point of View the leading European manufacturer of an exclusive range NVIDIA based 3D processor boards, advanced netbooks as well as fancy 7" and 10" Tegra tablet computers and additional enthusiast PC products, announces today that it is first to market with a 6-pin/8-pin GeForce GTX 680 3D processor board exceeding 1150 MHz.

The POV/TGT GeForce GTX 680 "BEAST/Backplate" features a significantly enhanced version of POV/TGT's award winning proprietary High-Performance/Wide-Bandwidth hardware design running at a base clock of 1162 MHz, and at an average boost clock of 1228 MHz. The POV/TGT GeForce GTX 680 "BEAST/Backplate" also benefits from an advanced power management for Auto-Overclocking up to around 1280 MHz. A very efficient combination of Triple Fan Cooling and a TGT cooling backplate guarantees utmost stability and cooling efficiency even beyond TGT's official specifications.

First independent reviews already published on the net confirm performance and cooling efficiency
"Point of View \ TGT GTX 680 Beast has arrived and we can finally confirm it is the fastest factory overclocked GTX 680 card." … "GPU temperatures didn't exceed 71 degrees Celsius in Crysis 2, which is an excellent score considering the fans remained almost inaudible, even in long gaming sessions. The cooler did an excellent job despite the incredibly hot weather in Austria as of late."

The POV/TGT GeForce GTX 680 "BEAST"/Backplate is immediately available at an expected street price of around € 560 including VAT.

Its huuuuuuuugggggggeeee!!!!!

Why did they position three heatpipes to the right? I think its better to position the three to the left side since there are more fins there.

Because the heatpipes are shorter they used more of them.

That really is a BEAST.

awesome built ...

This is what it's all about ladies and gentlemen. Tech + Cool Design = Win. The math doesn't lie. They had me with the three fans. I'm a sucker for GPU cooling. The backplate is cool too.

Why oh why did they choose to use the Accelero Xtreme Lite instead of the big brother.

Give me GTX 680 + Accelero Xtreme Plus + Backplate = Shut up and take my money

Yet no shots OF the Backplate? :wtf:

Is it just me or have GPU vendors lately had the mindset of bigger=better for coolers? Instead of slapping a huge piece of cheap aluminium with a couple of heatpipes on that $500+ GPU, how about actually putting an efficiently designed cooler on there? Is that too much to ask for a flagship card? I'm sure there are plenty of two-slot designs that could cool much better than this monstrosity for about the same price as this cooler(or slightly more expensive but justifiably so), so why not use one of those? At this rate, we'll start seeing four- and five-slot coolers so you'll buy that high-end graphics card for $500+ and be stuck with a single GPU setup...

Hehe Gigabyte is just getting started...:wtf:

Ouch... I could have gone without seeing that. Reminds me of the GTX680 that received the same treatment, poor cards...:shadedshu

Yeah it's the same treatment as the GTX680

Love it!!!! Too bad im broke...as usual

Bench that bitch :pimp:

That has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen..lol

No doubt. It will come in 7970 and 680 flavours. Almost makes Colorful's wacky coolers look pretty.

where is the backplate ?

They hit it really hard with every branch of the ugly tree.

The only thing more amazing than the sheer size of this thing is that all reviewers are saying it's quiet. It looks like it would make about as much ambient noise as a 10,000 BTU air conditioner. But quiet works for me. It's been a focus for years. I won't live with screaming fans :-) I don't know that I need quite this much video horse power since I'm into graphics... video editing etc. not games. Still...hard-core gamers establish the "bleeding-Edge" of this technology for us all.
