Pooling 4 SSDs into one dynamic disk

I've got 4x sata ssds of different sizes,512+500+256+256,that I wanna pool together.
I'm wondering how it works though.I'm more fond of managing space myself so that no drive hits too full.

Does anyone have any sort of idea how space is gonna be managed on a pooled drive ?

If you're using Windows Storage Spaces, just choose a striped layout and it'll spread data evenly across drives for the first ~750GB and then over the larger two for the remaining 375GB, assuming you use parity (RAID5). If you want capacity without resilience then RAID0 - remember that one dead disk will lose all your data though.

I haven't used the consumer version in Windows 10 but I'll assume it's the same software raid that Server 2012 onwards has....

Will you be doing this in Windows? Microsoft suggests using Storage Spaces because Dynamic Disks has been deprecated.

3rd party raid utilities, some open source,
could be the way to go, like drivepool or snapraid
