Hi Guys,

Wonder if someone can help me out with this one.
Booted my PC and POST stopped on "CPR Fail" according to the reference table this means "CPR Error" which is of no help to me atall LOL.

The system boots fine now, but I would like to know what "CPR Fail" actually means. Have tried google to no avail. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be most greateful.

System in system specs on left, Board in question is an ASUS Crosshair.

Thanks

C.P.R. - When the system hangs due to overclocking failure, there is no need to open the case to clear CMOS data. Just simply restart the system, the BIOS would show the previous setting and then users can amend the CPU setting again.

C.P.R. Fail - Means the C.P.R. function failed to load alternate BIOS.

Most likley cause is bad mobo battery, improper Jumper settings, Bad BIOS flash, Bad BIOS file, Wrong memory, Bad memory, improperly installed memory, Bad (too high)Overclock settings, CPU not supported, or Cmos needs to be reset.

Nice one Namslas...... :respect:

Sounds complicated, Basicaly it's just a BIOS error. Most Bios errors are either -Bios File - settings/components - or Overclock related.

true that! true that! One of the reasons why i dont OC... too many problems come with it.

Panchoman: true, but i likes to keep them running stable etc..... as long as it works i dont mind! haha!

Namslas90: Nice one with the fix...... hope it works out for him

BigJunit: let us know how you get on!

Well it looks to have been a one off problem. After multiple boots without any changes to BIOS settings everything is running fine.

May clear C-Mos just to be on the safe side - Thanks again for the help

CPR = CPU Parameter Recall, on some ASUS boards, restores defualts when you screw up.

CPR Fail = You screwed up an OC, and the board can't load defualts.
