With the first PCIe Gen 5 drives hitting the market, I thought it'd be interesting to compare loading times of different generations of already existing solutions.

This thread is strictly about storage performance. Please post benchmark results from your SSDs and HDDs. The age of the drive does not matter, but please include CPU info, as it greatly affects the final result.

  • Download Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark (if you haven't already)
  • Use the Maximum Quality preset at 1080p
  • Make sure that the Clear system cache upon benchmark initiation option is checked on the last tab (should be enabled by default)

  • Take a screenshot of the benchmark result
  • Indicate the model, capacity and interface type of the tested drive, as well as your CPU model

I do hope you didn't built your system for just this.... :D

Benchmark performed at maximum at 4K (I couldn't see how to change the resolution). Saved the score (38,525) in a text file but mucked up the screenshot. I'm using a 7900x CPU and 6900XT with a Kingston 3000 1TB drive. Loading time was 6.987 seconds.
