My inverter light is staying green even after I hit on off switch nut won't run anything anybody know why

Not really, without it being tested.

But, guessing... check all your capacitors. Look for bulging and other anomalies on them.

Take a couple, of clear/good resolution, pics and post them, of front and back... may help.

It's only 140 watt and you can hear it pull power from truck but it won't run a ten inch by ten inch fan or even charge my phone

Oops... thought you meant a power inverter in a monitor or TV.

Is your battery voltage good?
Is your connection to the DC good?
All wires and connections good... not broken, bare, or fraying.
Is it hot?
Check the fuse and that fuse holder is secure.
Check the output with a good RMS meter.

If it under warranty... see if you can RMA it and get them to repair it or send another.
If the warranty is up and you are knowledgeable in this type of testing/repairing. Open it up and go for it.

Check the Fuse?

Yeah first thing. That's just it ....it comes on and gives me my green light but won't even charge my phone and when I hit the power switch to the on position it takes power from my truck so it's getting power but not putting any out

I'd suggest unplugging it and leaving it switched on to drain all power, then open it up to see if it has a built in fuse or a loose wire.
Careful they store power and you could get zapped.
Is it 24V to 220V or 110V?

Input: nominal 10-15vdc 15a max
Output: 115vac 60hz 1100ma 140w
All wires are together and doesn't seem to be broke anywhere

Unfortunately those things are designed to be throw away if something goes wrong, unless you are handy with electronics, a soldering iron and have the equipement to test components. :(

If found it actually working on a house and I was just gonna either use it or sell it if it worked but the company is out of business so can't get paperwork on it . it's a port mobile power inverter if you can find anything on it I have burnt my phone up looking

Without seeing it, knowing the model number, or having a pic a label... Guessing it may be a PORT Mobile Power Inverter (NW801Lv2.0), sold by Targus around 1999 or 2000.

Found this info: PORT Mobile Power Inverter (NW801Lv2.0)

These are the models they have now: Targus Power Inverters

You could do a google search for "Targus Port Mobile Power Inverter <your model number here>" and click on images and see if one comes up for it.

When I look for it, mostly, all I find are cupholder types.

Goodluck with it.

FYI unless it's a pure sine wave inverter, you don't want to be using it to charge batteries. Unless you like replacing your rechargeable batteries frequently.

In fact you don't want to be using it for much of anything if it's quasi/modified sine wave. They're pretty much worthless.

And the fact that it won't run a fan or charge your cell phone doesn't necessarily mean it's not working. It probably just means it can't.

Actually Tripplites stepped (ie modified) sine wave products run a surprising number of devices for me without harm. I had a friend with some electrical knowledge examine the sine wave though, and it's actually a stepped wave with like 4 stair steps between the points. Not to shabby honestly.
