Power supply and video card

Was testing an old HD 7750 video card in an old (DDR2) computer and all was fine till I launched FurMark when it crashed the machine;
moved the card to a slightly more recent (DDR3) machine and all was fine with FurMark.
Could this be a problem with the power supply?

I wouldn't think so. I checked a review here on TPU and Average Watts used by the card in gaming was 41 and Maximum Watts used running Furmark was 43. I don't think increasing the load on the PSU by 2 watts would cause the crash.

7750 pulls all its power from the slot; maybe the MB doesn't want to supply enough? Seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

I must’ve drank too much coffee because I totally missed that you tested in another machine and all was well, making it less likely that it was the card

Now I did once have a machine that would not start when I installed a video card, but that one did turn out to be a bad capacitor in the power supply.

I gave up on coffee some time ago, but I am not sure my replacement, a cup with 3 tea bags is so very different.
