I just got a 8 inch headrest monitor from a sale for like 15 buck and wanted to know if its possible to test it with the 12v line and ground from a pc's power supply, the monitor needs a 12v line and a ground, would that be ok to use with a a pc for testing.

I don't see why not as long as it doesn't overload the PSU, which it shouldn't.

Perfectly fine. For normal ATX power supplies, you can turn them on by shorting the green wire with a black ground wire on the CPU power plug.

I just tried it and it worked perfectly, thanks alot guys

Might want to keep an eye on the temperature of that screen.
They are designed for mobile electrical systems which put out much closer to the 13v-14.5v range, it could be an issue, fairly unlikely because they are designed to handle voltage fluctuation quite well due to the nature of a cars electrical system but something to keep an eye on.
