I have a dual 2.5 PowerMac G5. One day turning it on I noticed some lovely orange goo coming out the back of it so shutdown and noticed the water pump was leaking and it was all over the PSU shield(system started smoking). The system would turn on but I replaced the PSU due to the smoking and goo all over it. Since I replaced it the power light will stay solid but nothing else happens. Also I put my own water cooling in it but kept the stock heatsink since the pipes matched up without a problem. Any Mac users out there? If so have you had problems due to the water cooling on the G5 systems?

Shouldn't be a problem with that at all, as long as everything matches up and you reapply the thermal paste.

I did put a little dab just what I found on it before but I forgot to note that the board did have a little water/fluid on it from the water pump crapping out. Do I have to have the original water pump connected or will it work with my old Asetek waterpump and connected via a floppy connection I modded in there?

I did pull the board out and let it dry before I assembled everything back together.

Oh...Water got on your mobo? :twitch: It should work with any water-pump, but you need to make sure that mobo is alright, water mixing with electronics is a bad move.

Oh...I KNOW!!! I used to have a mobile 2500+ Athlon XP and DFI Infinity II system(my favorite board I must say) but water killed them. Thanks for the info and I'll keep you updated if interested.
