hiii everyone..
I am facing this issue in my motherboard. The specification says there is this term 1066O.C in Front Side Bus but in BIOS it's fixed and I can't change it. :banghead:

I'd be thankful very much if anyone help me overclock my processor. :respect:

PC Spec:

Motherboard : ASUS P5SD2-VM
Processor : Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 @2.00 GHz
RAM : 2 GB
OS : Win 7 Ultimate
PSU : Odyssey 450W

P.S. I attached a cropped picture of my motherboard specification which indicates the FSB frequency.

I just read the manual for that board and only adjustments it allows is CPU multi which can only be lowered so it is a misprint that is can be OCed.

That board may not allow overclocking out of the box (SIS chipsets aren't known much for overclocking)

Here's a thread that recommends using a software called "SetFSB" for that board ...you may need to Google "SetFSB" to find a download link that works.

Thank you

Thank You. But I found this in CNET page which says max bus speed as 1066 Mhz and something about overclocking.

Now I am really confused. :banghead:

Can you link us to the article? I am assuming up front that the 1066 reference is for a memory divider.

Ok the max bus speed referred to there is the base speed of the CPU you can use in the motherboard.

For example some CPUs run 800FSB, some were 1066, while later wolfdales ran 1333. SO I would assume that they are saying 1066 is the max CPU clock that can be used on that motherboard. Most times the BIOS sets things automatically for the CPU on the board. Other boards also offered jumpers to set the FSB. In essence, the only way to OC on that board would be to put an 800FSB CPU and see if you can set the bios to see it as 1066mhz.

old board is old old cpu is old you aren't gonna be-able to overclock that
even if you could it would be waste of time
if you want moar speed the best option would be to pickup a either a core2 e7500 or core q2 quad q8400
the motherboard will uptwo a core2quad Core 2 Quad Q9650 but its not really worth that unless you can find one cheappp
