ok, i bought a router not so long ago to have internet in my bedroom and now im trying to play apprentice with a friend.

apprentice is a software to play magic the gathering. the point is that i cant connect to his game and he neither.

also the Ip adress i get from the software and from whatismyipaddress.com/ is different.

WTF IS GOING ON HERE

BTW, the router is workingly fine and the firewalls on both pcs are disabled.

if you dont trust the IP that whatismyip.com gives you, try logging on to you router and looking in 'router status' or 'router management' and see is the IP given to you from your ISP is there. that will DEFIANTLY be your correct IP

there are 2 ip's. one is the TCP/IP one which doesnt correspond with any ip and another, the WAN one which is the one that myipadress.com gives me

still cant make it work :(

im not sure how apprentice works, nor what you trying to connect it too.

more info plz. are you trying to connect it to an online server, directly to your freinds pc or another PC in your house?

ohk! i got it now.

what you need to do is to get the IP of the computer you are using now.

to do this, open up the start menu, click 'run' and type in 'cmd' a black window should appear. within this window type 'ipconfig'

(you should get a reply looking like this: http://www.erwinsrealm.com/images/ipconfig.jpg)

it should say 192.168.0.x (x being your individual IP) this is you private IP

in my case is 192.168.1.11. is that ok?

yep thats fine. that is your private IP for the computer you are on. try using that
