Hey guys, I'm having issues getting the correct drivers installed. I've tried the ICH9 and 10 Drivers however none of them have worked, I keep blue screening once it tries to load the windows executable inside of the xp loader. And there is no BIOS option to change the drive from native sata to legacy...help please...

Have you tried it without any drivers?

Yeah, it gives me a BSOD every time.

You'll have to go to HP Support site to figure out which chipset is installed for sure. I can't find anything on the interwebs that say.

I assume it also has a SATA drive, no? You'll need the ICH driver and also the SATA/RAID driver. If you forget either, all kinds of problems will occur.

Edit: I checked HP Support site and it is absolutely useless. You might have to call HP to get the chipset info.

Do you know what Northbridge (945, 965, P35, P45) it has?

I don't...unfortunately we already closed shop for the night and i no longer have access to the unit...i've tried the latest ich9/10 driver sets that i've been able to find but still nothin...

Most Core 2 Duo laptops ship with 965/ICH8. I'd try ICH8 and make sure you get both drivers (ICH8 and the associated SATA/RAID). It just might work. *crosses fingers*
