Problem?...with new hard drive

Ouch! It probably borked your backup when you originally ignored the error. :o

What you may have to do is put your old drive back in and do a check disk (fix errors) and then redo the Acronis backup.

Alright. Well, I did a disk repair through the command line so it would fully do it, I had to leave it overnight. Apparently it must have found the sector and repaired it because I attempted the backup again before I went to work, came home and no errors! So, here I go again trying to restore. Will keep you posted...

UPDATE: alright so. When I did the backup I chose only to backup the MBR and the C drive. When restoring I chose to restore both of these things to the unallocated space of the new drive. Well, that didn't work. Should I have backed up something else? Or should I fully install windows 8 on the new drive and then simply restore the C volume?

UPDATE: SUCCESS!!!!!!! Decided to just give my second idea a go. That idea being that I just fully install windows 8 on the drive and then restore the C drive. IT WORKED! Thank you so much for all the help!!!

That is awesome news Satin!

Installing a copy of windows and overwriting it was going to be my next suggestion.
LOL, ya beat me to it.

Thought it would be a huge pain doing it that way but to my relief, was a piece of cake!
