ok well i got a msi x1800xt, it wouldnt play games for more then 2 minutes on cs:s and would one last about 20-30 seconds in COD:2, so the more graphic intense game it would freeze quicker, the whole system out freeze and i would have to restart the computer.

I RMA'd the card, got a new one, and it does the same exact thing. Could it be i got 2 bad cards in a row, or i have a problem with hardware configuration.

i have a antec tp2.0 500 watt power supply so power realy isnt a problem and its SLI compatible.

could it be my EVGA nForce 4 mobo?

i used to have a 7800gt, but i uninstalled the drivers for the card, and used DriverCleaner Pro 1.5

i was thinking of reinstalling windows do you think that would help:confused:

thanks for the help

Has your computer restarted in Windows or loading other applications? If so I would look at your RAM. A reformat and a fresh XP would help too maybe.

no its never froze in windows. my rams good i was just using it with my old card, but i was looking around, and some evga mobos have compatiblity issues with x1900's, as well as other ati cards just the 1900's are the most common, so i think its the mobo, but im still not sure

humm i just called evga and they told me that there motherboards dont like ATi cards... WTF... fist it doesnt like my gskill ram (wich overclocked amazingly @ 245 2.5-3-3-6), now it doesnt like my card... i hate this mobo, any suggestions on good mobos for $120 and under? im not planning on going xfire or sli, and im going to get new stuff mid-late next year so im not goin to have it for to long, something with good performance and overclocking. thanks for suggestions/more help

jetway 939gt4 is sick

ocable like whoa, sli which you don't want, but nice path if you want, (prolly not tho, with an x1800) and it's 939 so that should work for you

i've heard nothing but good things, and they're under 55$ at newegg.com openbox

humm ill look at it

thanks

lol to bad its actually the exact same board as the evga... with the same problem

DFI Ultra-D is your best bet 100% without a doubt. If you don't do extreme overclocking the MSI K8N Neo4-F is cheap and clocks reasonably well.

yeah i actually found a dfi lp sli expert openbox for $117 and if it doesnt work ill just send it back, and the waiting time doesnt hurt me since i just got fight night 3 and GRAW for my xbox360 and thats keeping me busy while my comp cant play games... and if it doesnt work ill just get a ultra-d

^^ the dfi is the best one in your budget

I would have skipped the Expert and had gotten an Ultra-D as the Expert is buggy.

humm how is it buggy, like what problems have they been having?

Mostly memory compatibility issues. Getting them to boot can be rough the first few times. It is a good board, but they are difficult to work on at first. If you go to DFI-Street you can read up on them and get better answers than I can give. I just always loved my Ultra-D and it kept right up clock for clock and scored just as well on all benchmarks as the Expert. Making sure you have the proper bios is always helpful. My advice is that if that board gives you any crap when you get it, send it back and get an Ultra-D. They are nice to work with and just plain fly.

yeah well my evga board hatted alll memory, so one of the very few memory that worked on my evga board will work on the dfi board, ocz plat. 2g's...

yeah its a open box board to, so if it give me any problems ill just get newegg to exchange it for a ultra d

I don't think there is a worse board for memory issues than that EVGA board! LOL! I think you'll be OK, I just would not have picked the expert, it is not all that it is cracked up to be. The Ultra-D is the shiznat. It never failed me and ran over 360HTT speeds no sweat.

360htt damn thats nice, but i got the expert cuz its soposed to be the best overclocker out there... i would like to trade my ram for some pc4000 stuff tho, my ram goes to 215 2,3,2,5 super tight with good speeps but i would like some gskill pc4000 stuff, maybe someone would trade, ill put that in the b/s/t... if the expert gives me one little hickup its goin back tho.
