Hi there

Im having a bit of trouble getting my system running properly.

I've been doing some searching but havent really found anyone with the same problems with the mb as im having.

Firstly, it takes like 5 minuttes from when i press the powerbutton till it actually turns on.
The POST indicator just shows F. for 4-5 minuttes and then powers up.

Second problem. I cant turn the mb of in any other way than to switch off the powersupply. If i just turn it of, either on the powerbutton or in Windows, the POST indicator just shows F. and then turns on again after a couple of minuttes. :wtf:

The third problem is that i cant change anything else than the memorydivider in the uGuru menu in bios. If i change anything else it just powers down (F. again) and turns on with all changes in uGuru back to stock. So, the only way of overclocking is throu the Windows based uGuru.

I have tried a couple of different BIOS. 11, 12 b08, 12 b09 and 12 final.

I was thinking about if it could be because my Antec NeoPower 480W PSU doesnt have a P8 plug. But as im living on a tight budget, i dont really have the money to buy a new. :ohwell:
But i've also read that it has some problems with 45nm CPUs (i have an E8200).

I really hope that anyone could help me. :)

Matt

Well, first off what does F mean? 2nd, my best guess is the PSU. Thats a very serious overclock and a hungry GPU, if i was you i would want more headroom there. money is well spent on power supplies you wont regret it.

Im not really sure what F. means. It doesnt say it in the manual.
The mb has the same problems with and without OC. And i didnt have any problems with my old P35 board and a E6600 and the same GFX.

So its probably just a crappy board.. :(

I think im gonna buy a P4 -> P8 converter tomorrow and se if that makes any difference.

Well I didnt think i would need it since it wasnt necessary on my P35 board. :-/
I still have my E6600 so i think i will try it in the mb.

Small update.

I went down to the local hw shop, but they didn't have any P4 -> P8 adapters, so i came out with a new PSU instead.
And.. problems solved! :D
It still dual POSTS when i change anything in the uGuru menu, but that seems to be quite normal.

I tend to agree here. Give me a choice the IP35 series would win hands down. The only problem there was with the IP35 series was that you couldn't put the E8000 series cpu in unless Abit have fixed this now with an update
