I've been having problems with my RAID arrays and was forced to take them offline. Since then, i've made a RAID 0 array for testing and it keeps failing (pic #1 in attach).
I've contacted Adaptec support and sent them the files they asked (support archive from Adaptec Storage Manager, or ASM) as well as the pics i've managed to take and they say it's the HDDs because they have huge amounts of aborted commands (over 1000 in just 2 days: pic#2 in attach).
Because of the underlined in pic #1 i thought the problem was the cable since it "loses" a HDD and "regains" it a few seconds later but Adaptec support says different (???): they say the HDDs need to be used @ 1.5 Gb/s instead of 3 Gb/s.
I find this very odd because after changing the original controller cable (it was faulty), the HDDs worked quite well for over a year and only started acting up about 2 and a half weeks ago.
Any ideas?
