I'm looking for a program that would allow me to control how CPU behaves in Windows based on different controls and factors via power plan switching.
- mouse movement
If I'm moving the mouse, this tool should keep Power plan "High performance" selected. There should be a control for mouse idle time. If I stop moving mouse for I don't know, 15 minutes, it should switch to "Balanced" or "Power Saver" automatically. As soon as I move the mouse, it should reset the timer again (and keep resetting it for as long as I'm moving the mouse).
- running applications
List of applications that I want to run with "High performance" power plan. When such app is launched, it should kick into High performance. When app is closed, it should switch back to last used state.
- manual control
Quick selection in tray icon between all 3 basic modes.
The reason I want such tool is the fact that when my CPU clocks down when not under load, it seems that clock of 1.2GHz is a bit too low, but I also don't want it to run at full speed all the time either. Giving me the mouse and app monitoring control, I could benefit from it while not wasting power, making experience in Windows smoother while still not wasteful.
Is there any such tool? If not, anyone willing to create it?
