Hello,
I am implementing some added security to my vehicle parked in my driveway on private property that is just under my window. Right now i only have 2 1080p web cameras i plan to use for test and later invest in some better quality cameras designed for this kind of security. Since web camera has almost zero visibility in dark, i also plan to add motion detector that will turn on the lights around vehicle if something moves there. That should, at least for the testing purpose, add enough light to capture what is going on there. I plan put the camera on my window from the inside, connect it to a laptop and then record video continuously. I will need a program that will do that for me. I might use 500gb or 1000gb disk for starters since i have them at home and video recording at 1080p will quickly fill this. It would be great if the program could somehow detect this and start deleting old videos and instead writing new ones. I am home everyday so even if i only have recordings for the past 2 or 3 days should be good enough, for instance if someone just comes to check the vicinity of the vehicle. I actualy have a car camera that does just that, i use 16gb microsd card on it and when it detects its full it will start deleting old files. Sadly the files there are huge. If the program could somehow encode those files before saving them would save tons of space, if such a program even exists.
Help me find the program that would do that i need it to do and run on windows. And if the testing goes ok, i will invest more money in a proper camera that has some sorts of night vision also.
