The Playstation 3 will no longer act as a home network router, according to Sony Computer Entertainment boss Ken Kutaragi, who said the feature was dropped because it would have been "too expensive". Speaking to Japanese publication Nikkei Electronics, Kutaragi said that the original specification for the PS3 would have allowed the system to use it's three Gigabit Ethernet ports as a home router. However it is unsure if Sony will cut the PS3 down to one ethernet port, or leave the 3, as the company had hinted before of other plans for the multiple network connections.
