PSU Help for Build.

I have built the following system for gaming(mainly play Star Wars the old republic with my partner, Elite Dangerous, Fallout 4, Starfield when it comes out) and light web use.
I had originally purchased a Corsair RM 850x but the unit kept powering off and the PSU was making whine noises. To be safe I just sent it back as it was within the return window. I ordered an EVGA Supernova 850 T2 just because it was what I remember being a highly rated PSU about 7 years ago when I last did a build. I am wondering if I can do better or at least shorter in length as it's 180cm and doesn't give a lot of room in the Torrent Compact PSU area.
My other choices that I've somewhat narrowed down to based on reviews were the Supernova 850 G7, Seasonic Focus PX-850 (but I've only found a russian review and the cybernetics report or the Antec ST1000 or it's I believe Seasonic equivalent Prime TX-1000. I don't think I really need 1000w on the PSU but I just want to go with something other then Corsair this time. The Antec and Seasonic only save me 10mm. I am in Canadian dollars and availability also.
I'm sure I can make the EVGA 850 T2 work in the case, I just wonder if a newer PSU is going to have any real advantages, all I can really see is that they are shorter and have better standby power which isn't a big concern to me.
I don't mind paying a bit more for quality and I felt like these models seem to come up on most of the PSU tier lists as well as actually available to me through amazon or newegg.

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 850 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Since the power supply is 7 years old. I'd probably be considering changing it. Its earned its retirement. I wouldnt jump on a new PSU straight away. Id look for a deal on a good one.

Sorry just to clarify the evga t2 is new in a box, but yes is a 7 year old version.

The EVGA would probably work fine but I still wouldnt trust it. caps, resistors and chokes still degrade even if there isnt an electric charge being constantly run through them. Id get a new PSU and use the EVGA maybe for a lower end machine if you ever build one.

You have to be cautious because a faulty PSU or one on its way out could take the rest of your machine with it and its honestly not worth the risk.

That EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 has a 10-year warranty, so if it is showing issues, then I would RMA it back to EVGA for replacement. If it is running fine, then I would just use hardware info to monitor the voltages when you are gamming and put a heavy load on your system.

The problem with this is EVGA are pulling out of the PC industry entirely. They havent announced a withdraw from the PSU market yet but Im assuming it will eventually happen.

The unit he receives back in return might me a lesser unit then the original that was originally sent in.

They just released new line of supplies with a 3- and 5-year warranty, so I think the OP has some time before he needs to worry about it.
