After reading the sticky, I am still a bit undecided on whether I should upgrade to a gold PSU. I current have been using a Corsair CMPSU-650TX Bronze. The one in this review specifically:

https://outervision.com/articles/psu/corsair/tx650/corsair-tx-650-7

I've had it for years since 2006, maybe?

I feel like a lot of the times my computer is the cause for the high electric bills coming through but I am just not sure. Would anyone think it would be a good idea to upgrade to a PSU thats more up-to-date with todays standards? From the chart it looks like I would be saving quite a bit in the long run with a gold rated so I am looking that way (platinum is too much right now).
Thanks for any and all help

what I am looking at: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151132
I also wouldnt mind the 650w option either

Let's see. Buy a new $80-$90 PSU to save yourself maybe(but likely quite a bit less than) $15-$20 in electricity every year. Worth it? Not in my book. I'd wait until what you've got dies, and upgrade then.

I have an oppurtinity at grabbing a FSP 850w gold plus for 75. My worry seems to be somewhere down the line of long term but this PSU has been holding out for so long at least with more of an upgrade I can add another GPU or overclock, etc. But you make a great point. Thanks

If that's the case then it seems like you may have answered your own question. If the income is readily available and the deal is also readily available why not buy it if it's not gonna hurt you financially better to be safe than sorry plus you'll have a spare power supply that works for priming water cooling set up's, as well as testing various components

That's also a good point, I didn't mean to answer my own question it just seemed like a good deal as I hear FSP is a great choice. But from the sticky I saw it looked liked you were able to save more a month with silver and higher ratings. Maybe I read it wrong, I should read it again.
