Can anyone tell me the maximum dip voltage for +12? I get as low as 11.63 from an idle of 11.75 and while I usually go by 10-15% in either direction I have a sneaking suspicion I should be worrying this seems really low.

Hm you wouldnt happen to kniow if this is common? I just dont really ever remember one dumping lower then .75

Well I really don't but if it was performing better before then is some form of degradation. How old is the PSU?

My 1st CoolMax PSU had a crazy dip on the 12+ rail and i used to use speedfan back then and it seemed accurate to with other apps and the bios was saying during gaming it was dropping to 10.3v which is were the PC shutdown and last recorded voltage.

That thing actually melted the power switch.

Software measuring is 100% useless.

The readings on my current system is even more off.

I can ever remember one that I have tested drop below 12 volts. But they were all high end PSUs and thats under full load measured with a Fluke meter

Same with my current mobos although Speedfan was reporting a more positive with the old nd gone ABit mobo i used to own, when running a game in a window you could see the rails changed. In the end you are right it's not dependable it was just that it was \ or seemed at least it actually worked for once.

Seedfan is even worse on my current ones, although i like to try and see.

I don't think you need to worry about dips to 11.63 under load. That's within normal tolerance on the 12v rail. If it keeps creeping downward it may be a problem, so just keep an eye on it. One of my PSU's, an Antec TPQ1000, dips to 11.7 on occasion, but it's 5 years old, so aging could be a factor.
