Would anyone who is running an Intel Quad please post their CPU temps, core temps, and case or mobo temps at both idle and load.

I am trying to get a good idea of what the baseline temps for the quad chips are running.

Thanks in advance.

48 on constant load
27 on idle

Edit: Woops didn't see mobo request
16 and 28, not sure which way round they are.

I don't know about case temperature.

Is the 27 idle your CPU or core temps (using coretemp)?

My cores run in the low 40s at idle, which I think is rather warm. Not sure of the overall CPU temp as I don't have anything running to check board temps at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they're core temps, because I get readings for the separate cores. When I go into my BIOS it shows 17-19, so I presume that's external-to-cores temp, or whatever it's called.

Edit: this is with SpeedStep though. Before I got scaling working it was 35 idle.

I must have a poor cooler mount.
I ordered some better goop and am going to reseat the cooler.

When I use the quad for folding my CPU cores go up into the high 60s at stock speeds.

Atech is on a Q6600, so he'll likely always have lower temps than you do Kreij, and with Speedstep, his idle temps will also be lower.
You QX6700 is running hot when folding, but frankly, if you're folding with all four cores, you've got loads of heat from each core, so a very high temp. is to be expected.

hm, might wanna try a good aftermarket cooler

@Ripper3 : When I am idling, my CPU is throttled back to 1.6GHZ (roughly) so I would expect to see temps better than the low 40s.

@Hat : I am using a Scythe Mine cooler (with 90mm fan). I also have a fan on the PSU, 4 in the case (1 in front, 2 in back, 1 in top) and a 250mm on the side. I think I should have enough airflow :)

TT Swing, Supermicro X7DAL-E, running around 32C idle and nearly 40 load. Stock coolers.
Then again I use LV parts.
