If I have one of the HD3870X2 , can I get one more and "link" them (Crossfire or is it called SLI aswell??)

I got an offer from the "regular" place where I buy my stuff - and she said If I buy 2 of them, I'll get them for 3000:- each (485US$ each) instead of 3830:- each. So I asked her
"Well what shall I do with 2 cards?" She said she thinks they can be connected to each other.

If this is possible, then uhm.. I would have the option to connect 8 screens total..

Oh, and the card is "Asus Extreme Radeon HD3870X2 1024MB HDTV QUAD".

edit <Motherboard supports SLI>

I was thinking of getting the "Dual" version first, but since it never came, she said this would be the deal of my life.. (Ok, I can't pay both cards at once, but can buy one and get the other one on my Visa).

I really need to know what to do, but on the other hand - I asked a friend and he said "That's too much power", and I'm starting to get the picture of "why" that would be.
The card is for use in my soon to be built Phenom rig.

Thankful for any replies given (oh, and I don't know sh** about the graphics cards of today..)

Supposidly in the next cat drivers you should be able to hookup 2 3870 x2's together using crossfireX as long as you're running vista.

You said the "magic" word: Vista.
I will say no thanks to the great offer and buy only one then.
