I was wondering if I can use a single "Crossfire Ready" video card without a "Crossfire Compatible" video card, or do I have to get both cards to make anything work at all?

Thank You ~

x1300 and x1600 - just get 2 of the same model .. mfgr doesnt matter
the rest of the cards you need a matching cf master

depends on the cards you're trying to do it with, two x1600's will run in crossfire without the need for a mastercard, same with x1300's, but when you get to the higher range you need the mastercard such as with the x1800's and x1900's

Crossfire?:
1. Crossfire Ready motherboard
2. X1800 (example..)
3. X1800 Crossfire Edition (Is this one optional? Can I wait getting this one untill I got money for it and go with my X1800 in the meanwhile*with the Crossfire Ready Motherboard*?)

yeah you can go that way and you would probably better off ,with an x1800 anyway, and the prices will drop further as the x1900 picks up more.

So what you are saying is that I can get a Crossfire Ready Motherboard, a X1800 and wait to buy the X1800 Crossfire Edition card and still be able to do everything I do right now?

Edit: Nevermind, I already got the answer, and I probably go for Crossfire :D
