quick question about a device, it ends soon on ebay so i need a qick answer please

Just note that those only support SATA I (1.5GBs), if your drive is SATA II (3.0GBs) you will need a different card, or default to SATA I speeds.
 
its just says sata on the hdd so im guessing its just sata1?

I believe so.
Technically its SATA 1.5Gb/s and 3.0Gb/s.

Anyways, there are hardly much advantage in terms of performance since HDD can't reach SATA speed sustained.
 
its a VIA chipset on the card, they have shit drivers.

I've got two similar cards here in the spare parts that wont work in vista/7 x64 - they just refuse to initialise, even when they have 'supported' drivers.
 
ok guys thanks for that i went for the one viper suggested it was a little cheaper. Im only using xp 32 so no problems there and performance wise i couldnt care as long as its reliable
