So I switch from a Microsoft account to a local account in windows 10 is there any harm in doing this.

And what is the difference between a local account and a Microsoft account

Can u make as much local accounts as you want in windows 10 like change the local account Into a new different local Account anytime u want

Local account is just not synced "to the cloud" so you loose the ability to replicate stuff among machines. Otherwise, there's no difference.
But I'm not sure you can convert an online account to a local one. You may just have to create a new account from scratch.

I think it better to say you "temporarily" lose, or you "disable" the ability to replicate. That is, you can enable it again by going back to a Microsoft account.

There is no harm in going with a Local account. In fact, if you typically use just one Windows computer and/or you don't need access to all the Microsoft on-line features across multiple computers, with the same personal configurations a Microsoft account gives you, I personally recommend going with a Local account.

Yes I was in a online account that I didn’t need because I only have one windows computer so I just went into settings and click sign in with a local account instead.

An online account can be useful on a single computer. It will restore your settings should you need to wipe your PC clean. But you know better what you need ;)

What do you mean by restore your settings if I need to wipe my pc clean
does goinging from a Microsoft account to a local account delete anything or Remove anything from the pc

I mean if your storage fails and you have to install Windows again, it will preserve some of your settings (themes, locale, font sizes and whatnot).

I don't think it deletes anything, why would it?
