Hey I'm not sure if theres anyone else who has one of these web cams but I'm having a lot of trouble recording a video with this that other people can actually see. If i make a video with it i can watch the video without any trouble however if someone else tries to they just get a black screen with sound. If i try to upload it to say youtube i get an unrecognized format error even though its supposed to be a .avi.

seems like it's using a codec. Maybe avisynch, try changing the output to mpg.

I'll give it a shot, have any idea what software would be a good choice to do such a thing?

The trial of Alive just told me its an unsupported format ><!! What has logitech slipped into their encoding? Know if any good web cam programs that i could use instead of the logitech ones that i could use for recording?

Yeah there's a problems with webcam program. Alive can use every common format. I had a program while back that I use to use. It was awesome program. Motion Detection (Video and Audio), Snap-Shot, Video Recording of coarse. I'll try to find it.

If you do I'll love you for life :P. Its something I've had trouble with for a while but I'm finally annoyed enough to do something about it. Unfortunately i was failing miserably.

actually i just finished trying that one and it would only take like 2 frames per second :(. I'm about to try out something called active webcam though. I'll tell you how it goes.

Active WebCam is suppose to be pretty good, i haven't used it though. But that webcamXP is awesome. :rockout: Let me know if you need more help.........

yeah to get people to play it back, they need the logitech software installed too.

Its avi, but i think it uses a logitech codec.

I have the same webcam... just keep looking for a new program to record with and let me know if you find a good one :D
