K, not that specs. We're talking about in your profile page. We also need the info tab of GPU-z, not the resource measurements.

Oh and stop double/triple posting, it's against forum rules.

newest gpu-z:

newest bios for your motherboard?
there are bios updates for your gpu dating 2016
integrated graphic disabled?
i have the latest bios for my mobo
gpu latest update
integrated disabled
also my fan is stuck at 40 percent even when idle. the should just start spinning if the temp goes above 53 degrees and as you can see on the temps on gpu-z it cant detect my gpu temps.
FYI i used the igpu for while. while waiting for my gpu.
is my gpu defective?
i also plug in another low end gpu on my system and it detects everything expect gpu temps. and the fan is also at 40 percent idle. but i did not install its gpu driver.
should i try to reset the bios?
also tried to reinstall everything. same thing happens.
need help.

@W1zzard would be the one to help you here as he's the one that created GPUz

It says in GPU-Z you are running Catalyst 15.8

Download the latest version from AMD's site, or here at TPU in our downloads section and check if that makes any difference.

You using MSI afterburner ? If so open it up and tick fan to auto
Few MSI Afterburner version ago i had a issue with Pc booting and Msi afterburner kept turning auto fan off then stuck on 40% fan usage, seems fixed after update

i already tried at least five different drivers, even the latest drivers. still the same output.
the only improvement i had was now i have gpu load but before it stays at zero percent.
would resseting my bios make a difference?
tnx for the reply master.

No offence to SnakeDoctor, but I'd listen to W1zzard first. Pretty sure he is a lot more knowledgeable than SnakeDoctor. I mean, he did create GPU-Z and he does run this web site.

I am only talking about fan speed that is stuck @ 40% .Which msi afterburner has caused that issue for me, Pointless me or anyone pitching in then

Sorry man, my post didn't do a very good job in relaying what I was trying to say. I didn't mean to belittle your comment in anyway.

no harm done my friend. the important thing is you tried to help. trying is better than nothing.

GPU load should be at 0% when sitting at the desktop, higher during games.

Do you have only one graphics card? and the monitor cable is connected to it?

Have you tried completely uninstalling the AMD drivers from the control panel and then reinstalling them?

Does the card work in another PC ?

i have only 1 gpu and yes it is connected to my monitor via hdmi
i tried complete uninstalling amd drivers still the same
also tried to reinstall everything and still the same
have not tried the gpu from another pc cause i dont have another rig
tried to put low end gpu on my pc like the amd hd 6670 without installing the drivers and gpu z reads the core clock speeds and memory clock speed but not temp and the fan is at 40 percent like my r9 380 g1.
should i rma my gpu?

tried to install amd 6670 on my rig with latest drivers and gpu- z is detecting all but my r9 380 g1 still the same.
is my r9 defective?

it should run whithout a bios update but on gigabyte site you have this:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5462#bios

and i would try newest gpu-z version 0.89

so you tried another gpu?ok-6670? and its too stuck at 40%

and you found the other thread-good

if its easy to bring it back to shop i would return it

tried another gpu the hd 6670 and the readings are normal on gpu-z. the fans are at 39 percent idle and pretty normal.
and i don't know how to flash bios a gpu and i might break it even more. i dont even know what bios version i have
so you think my gpu is bad?

Try the card in another PC, if it doesn't work there either, you should RMA it
