I have an XFX R9 380, that works fine in win10 when the Windows Default Display driver is used, or when the system is booted in Safe Mode, however as soon as the AMD Driver is downloaded and installed, I get an odd (I guess I would call it Artifacting) on the screen, and it flashes to black, then back to the artifacts, then black, then back again...
It does this several times, until I get a windows BSOD...
It almost looks like the windows desktop was shrunk down to 1/100th the size, then duplicated in little boxes all over the screen about 50 times... Almost like the resolution has been set to some SUPER high # that doesn't exist.. Like 10,000x50,000 or something like that...
I've attached a picture of the failure for reference, because IDK 100% if this is really artifacting or not... I don't really know what to call it..
Fully part is, when this is going on, the Cursor and "hour glass" (spinning circle in win 10) is displayed fine, and I can move it just fine.
This card was working, and pulled out of my newer system, about a year ago when I upgraded to a better card.. It's just been sitting in a box, until I put together some parts I've had, just to have a second gaming rig for when friends come over... (not that it would really matter, but the specs are
R9 380
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
Xeon W3580 3.33ghz 4core
16gb ram
win10pro
500gb ssd
500watt PSU
I'm thinking its a corrupt bios on the card, because I had a similar issue with an Nvidia card a few years ago where it would also crash in windows when the driver was installed, but work fine when it had just the Windows Standard Display driver... I was able to flash it with a replacement firmware and everything was good to go...
Any Idea's would be appreciated..
