Hi
I am looking in the bios and i can't find the ram divider, does anyone knows where it is?

ASUS M2N-E (see System specs)

BIOS -> Advanced Tab -> CPU Configuration -> DRAM Configuration (at the bottom)

Memory Clock Frequency is on that page, plus advanced memory settings.

It isn't there
Wich are the names that it can have

ASUS M2N-E, is that a value board? Or performance?

i have the bios that is in the manual, where is the ram divider?

It may be totally asynchonous (no divider) - can you find a setting for the ram speed?

RAM SPEED? ddr400, ddr533,...

No, like actual memory bus speed - 200MHz, 215MHz... etc.

Have you found any way to control the memory timings? You may just be having a hard time finding the right page in the BIOS settings - sometimes they are buired.

i can change timmings in the page you say it was the ram divider (but it isn't there), thinking of sending a mail to ASUS asking where the f... they put it

Changing the ram speed acts as changing the divider. Eg, the divider when the ram is set to 400MHz is probably 200:200 = 1:1 (if your default FSB is 200MHz). If you bump your FSB or HTT or whatever it's called up to 220MHz that will chuck your ram up to 220MHz (440MHz DDR). So setting it too 333MHz would be like using a 400:333 divider (~4:3.3) ect. Do you understand what I'm saying?

yep, the problem is that i use ddr2 533 and can't find the dam ram divider

btw on cpu z the fsb:ram says CPU/7 - is that the divider?

Yes, that will give you the speed it's running at. If I were you I'd set your ram to the highest speed your motherboard will let you and then up the HTT speed and lower the CPU multiplier until you get good speed on both.

I can't change the memory speed, just timmings :banghead:

Can't change speed at all? That sucks, time for the pissed off email to Asus!

I asked on the forum of the shop where i bought it if anyone find it, if not
Time to mail some stupid guys that forget to put options on the board, even my old P4S800 had it

If you are able to change the memory timing as a ratio CPU speed, then you are changing the memory speed... I.E. CPU = 200 MHz, CPU:RAM = 1:1, then the memory is at 200Mhz (DDR400). If the divider is at 4:5 then the memory is at 5*200/4 = 250 (DDR500).

Hope that helps.

Where can i change Ratio cpu speed?
And if my memory is at 266 (DDR2 533) is my cpu at 266mhz too?

my cpu is currently with the fsb at 217, if i put it in 218 the computer freezes, going to update BIOS because i read in some sites that is not complete, maybe the ram divider will appear then :D
