Motherboard B650M HDV M.2
CPU Ryzen 5 7600
RAM Corsair Vengeance 2x16gb CMK32GX5M2E6000Z36
I have this issue that if I set EXPO speeds in the bios it will set them succesfully and won't blue screen when booting or any other problems like that however if I restart my pc instead of shutting down and booting in the ram will reset back to 4800mhz it won't do this all the time when i restart but its often enough where it becomes an annoyance. I've research this issue and i've not seen anything similar happen anywhere else would it be faulty memory/motherboard?

Some folks will tell you that historically, more often than not. Corsair RAM hasnt ran so well with Ryzen setups. Have you tried updating your bios to the latest one?

I just updated to the latest non-beta bios version and now when I choose the expo profile in the motherboard settings it'll just stay at 4800mhz no matter what I do.

Take one module out and see what happens. Otherwise All i can say is that you should throw the corsair away and get a set of G.Skill which are well known to work with well with Ryzen systems.

You arent the only one to have issues with Corsair RAM on Ryzen setups and you wont be the last either.

FWIW I have that exact RAM in my system* and it works fine.

@Celstorto234 Have you changed anything else, like timings and such?

*Ryzen 7600
MSI X670E Gaming Plus Wifi

Different mobo maker though

okay I've remove a stick and it seems to use the expo speeds now so perhaps a faulty memory channel?

and to answer your question all i've done is choose the expo profile and turn off auto driver installer in the motherboard settings.

I have an HDV board on one of my test benches. It's a weird one. High end in some ways, and extremely low end in other ways. I would clear cmos, then manually set the RAM.

Contact asrock for assistance, they might make a bios for you to fix your issue

Update to the newest BIOS if you haven't already
And replace cmos battery.

If it keeps doing it, I'd warranty the board first.

I decided I would re-apply the cpu just to make sure it wasn't something like that and I found 1 bet pin on my cpu socket. I'm guessing that could have something to do with it however i've heard that there are dud cpu pins.

Your ram is probably Samsung. 6000c36 tends to be Samsung. Ypu could also have a weord case of 2x16gb being dual rank. Check your sticks and see if they have ram dies on both sides. If your ram is dual rank it is way harder to run for memory controller and 6000 expo may not work. Solution can be to set expo and run ram at 5800 instead, may work.

Memory compability is not as good as Asus for instance. G.skill tends to work fibe, but I had a lot of isdues with my board running Patriot 2x16 A-die.

seems to be pretty stable at 5800mhz so maybe my cpu or motherboard is not powerful enough to run it at full speeds

It is cpu imc. What is your soc and vddp voltage in bios?

Yes

You have a budget board

Yes

You have a budget board
B650m hdv is a 2dimm board capable at running ram at 8000 with the right sticks. Most boards are 4 dimm and they are less capable at running fast ram due to co plex tracing. I've run 8000 on mine, but compability with those sticks were not good so it wasnt 100% stable.

I have the same thing happening. My computer runs stable, memtest detects no errors, and I never have any blue screens or crashes.
I tend to keep my computer on 24/7, but like once a month I restart it, and once every couple of months of those restarts, it will bootloop until the ram resets. I have no idea why this happens, but I can live with it just fine. It's just puzzling.

yeah its really annoying because when you wanna restart it takes forever because i guess it tries to train the memory but can't so it restarts to train it again with the lower speeds

So a new bios update dropped a week or two ago and it seems to be working pretty well so far haven't had any trouble getting to 6000mhz so maybe they fixed whatever problem they had with my ram?

actually after futher investigation no matter what ram speed I choose in bios it'll always revert back to 4800mhz after restart, i took another look at my ram as the weird thing is that the amazon page says its 1.35v but the actually profile is 1.4v I don't know if that means anything but I thought it was worth pointing out
