RAM - Hardware reserved - help!

Hi

Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place ...

I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor 3.60 GHz CPU, a Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard and Windows 11.

Until recently I had 8GB Ram. I have upgraded this to 2 modules of 8GB RAM.

Windows Systems> About reports "Installed RAM 16.0GB (7.95GB usable)"

Task Manager reports "Memory 7.9GB Hardware reserved 8.1GB"

Obviously I want all 16GB to be useable.

I think it has something to to with the motherboard.

All suggestions welcome.

Hi,
Probably need to clear cmos
Usually removing the mother board battery after shutting down and unplugging and draining the power by holding down the power button for 30-45 seconds will do it.
If not review your mother board manual to clear cmos properly.
Then optimize defaults in bios.

Hi,
Intel I've never had an issue and if there was bios would flash up on startup to use F1 to enter bios to recover settings
Meaning optimize defaults save and exit.
