I would say wait for it to come back in stock. There's no garuntee that the 2nd module will do dual channel mode with your current RAM. I'm pretty sure it HAS to be the exact same ram dimms for dual channel.

uggh it was instock a few days ago too.. how long will it be do you think?

Anyone else? Hi 8 guests anyone wanna help lol

I need to know in the next 20 mins thats when im gonna order. Im getting other things too.

lets get all the facts on the table here....

#1 are you planning to Overclock this new/used ram?

#2 it says in your specs you are running 1024mb of ram...one stick or 2X512 kit?

Also at the cost of ram today why not just save a little bit and get a good 2X1024 kit of matched stix. Better all around and doesnt leave any of the questions I asked relevant any longer!

I have a 1gb stick right now its the Kingston Value RAM.. and I cant save up more, my moms getting a new CD burner and is letting me get that 1gb stick for 20$ cause my old mobo took one of my sticks out. Im not gonna OC the ram just the CPU.

As oli says im not sure on the dual channel thing either. But you should be able to run dual channel in Dynamic mode versus the other version (term has escaped me)

In other words you run 1 1024 stick on each channel if it wont read correctly in normal Dual Channel configuration. If this is the only way it can happen to get you 2048 of ram I say it cant hurt!

Actually both ram are the same. One is Retail and other is OEM (even tho it says Retail on Newegg). Call Kingston u will get the same above answer. Chances are it might run dual channel, but sometimes you get one sided stick and the one you have is dual sided then u r screwed.

I got the ram yesterday and its been working great! It even runs dual channel so im happy :)
