so in the past week or so on both my computers (which are connected via sharing) suddenly get crazy pop ups no matter which website I go to. it even happens here so I know it must be a virus or malware. I'm thinking my kids must have clicked something somewhere. but defender doesn't pick anything up, norton picks nothing up and avg doesn't either. checked both registries cant find errors there either. it started as just happening here and there but now it happens on every website. I click to say, comment on tpu or login to gmail or stream on netflix and it pops up a blank page with a window that says leave this page (which actually does close the blank page) but then it becomes a popup fiend until I refresh the page then it goes back to normal browsing until I open a new page then it starts again. I use google chrome on both pc's but it still does it in IE as well and edge. haven't tried firefox because I figured it will be the same. pops are disabled on chrome with no exceptions. any ides as to what may be happening or where I should look? im stumped. never had this problem in chrome before I have had it happen in ie but I fixed it by switching to chrome lol.
EDIT windows 10 X64 on my pc windows 10 32 bit on the main house pc

Check if something called Conduit is installed. I seem to remember that doibg things like that and not being picked up by AV's.

Some crapware installs as an add on to the browser. As mentioned Conduit can be be a problem, as can Ask.
Both are a pain to remove.

I had a whole host of these borderline-malware PUPs last year with my initial 4160/R7 265/SG08 setup. It wasn't hard to identify the culprit(s) in the Programs and Features list but the uninstalling part is always a pain in the ass. The uninstallers always have a billion goddamn steps, with each step proposing that you install another PUP (obviously with a MASSIVE "install" button and a tiny light grey "DECLINE" in the corner of the window).

This may or may not be the same kind of software but other than the program installing its own programs upon uninstallation, everything is not too bad to manage. Sometimes you get a software offer that doesn't appear to give you a way out (i.e. uninstallation/decline/"No, don't install"); you just have to take all the time you need and search for a way out.

Beware that not being careful while uninstalling these programs may lead to exponential increase of unwanted malware/software. The good thing is that most of these programs are not actually malicious aside from the fact that they are supremely irritating.

PS: I know that the unwanted behaviour seems to revolve around Chrome; I had a similar issue as well and thought it was extension-related. Evidently it was actually a program.

none of those on any programs list in windows or in cc cleaner. I had an exception for ask in chrome I removed that but still happenig. also ran malware bytes comes up empty

ublock origin

Check your extensions on Chrome (Settings -> once in there, on the left hand side menu you should see History/Extensions/Settings - click on Extensions). If you see any extension that you haven't installed, remove it.

They rarely use their proper name in programs lists, that would be too easy.
Can you post a screenshot of all programs?

here you go, the only one that loos out of place is kmspico but I know it's need for something because I tried to delete once and something stopped working right. I think i may be to do with my audio or something like that

Also, why not manually change your DNS to OpenDNS to filter some of the requests in the first place...

Easy enough to do. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings

Add OpenDNS DNS as your DNS1 and 2:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

I use these for filtering my network, has done wonders with keeping the kids out of sites they don't need to be on and PC's haven't been infected between that, Malwarebytes + MSE/Defender...0 issues.

Sure you'll lose your pronz access unless you sign up for a free home account, where you can login to the web console and add domains you want...if you feel the need that is. But I'd say see if you can defeat some of the requests with DNS filtering, and use Malwarebytes, Superantispyare, etc. to clean your system up.

You got the bad juju.
Format and reinstall.
Backup things you want to keep.
Maybe use Noscript and don't install Flash next time. ;)
