I'm thinking about getting a razer death adder v3 or essentials for a Windows pc, but I don't know anything about their software. Does anyone have experience, good or bad, with razer mouse software? I also don't really know if the v3 is worth it over the "essentials" model. Any insight is appreciated.

Razer Synapse has gotten better over the years. There is the occasional issue with certain devices, but overall, I cannot complain. The same software controls their keyboards, speakers, and other devices.

You can look at differences here. The V3 has the "premium" cable, higher resolution sensor, and an extra button. I would not say it is worth double the price, but that's just me.

I'm not a fan of it, having a Viper Ultimate and Death Essential. I find that the software doesn't really respond. On top of that I hate the inbuilt advertisements, yes you can turn them off but it's really narcissistic if you ask me.

Should be fine, might want to search around a bit but the product page lists it as having onboard memory.

Previous mouse was a Viper Mini, uninstalled software after setting it up and worked fine for a couple years (MMB died).

Current mouse is Deathadder Mini, haven't uninstalled software yet.. probably won't this time (I seem to have a terrible time trying to get it reinstalled after uninstalling). Uses about 100mb of RAM total (3 services) that I never notice.

Disabled Synapse on startup and turned all the random shit off.. so just the services run silently. I open the app maybe once or twice a year, usually can't even remember if I left it installed. Software firewall keeps it from accessing remote IP's.
