Hello Guys ,

I cannot make sense of the results so please help me , i dont know if my processor is messed up or the cooler .

As the load goes up the Speed of the CPU becomes static between 800-1000 MHz otherwise when the load is 1-20% the speed is 1.7 MHz- 2.4 MHz.

It use to work fine than everything starts to lag , even when i do not play game, i have wasted enough money for a new 1080 still lagging so i figured there is something wrong with the cooling or processor .
Please let me know what you guys think about the result .

Thanks,

Arki.

I'd take it out the case, put in on a box or bit of wood or whatever you have there..

Check the cooler mounting and make sure there's no plastic cover on it. Make sure there's contact with the CPU so install the cooler and then take off, make sure there's paste on the base of the cooler (so make sure it's clean before you do this obviously...) then check the voltages etc in the bios and see what the heck is going on!! If you haven't overclocked the CPU, I'd default/reset the bios to stock and start a complete fresh. There's no way you should be hitting those temps.. Even a stock Intel cooler is better than that!! :)

Thanks much friend , so i do not over clock , i just found out 1 of the fan is not working behind the coolant system , its like as follows :

(throwing air outside of chases) Fan1 --> The big coolant(connected with 2 wires going to the smaller unit on top of processor) --> Fan2

Fan1 is not working . ...i touched the big coolant square ,it was cool though :)

i never touched the hardware before ,no plastic , now i am hoping if i can just have that fan fixed and it will all be ok :(

i bought another 1080 just to see the problem fixed but i guess in the end its just the cooler :( .. i will have best buy fix it , i am afraid to touch the hardware

Help is no problem but I'd take the motherboard out of the case and make sure the cooler is connected on correctly, as I'm not sure it's making proper contact to the CPU which would kinda make sense with the crazy high temps. I know you have to delid these CPUs but for stock speeds you should be more than fine..

If you could post up some pics of how the system is and such, it would be a great help to actually see a bit of whats going on.. The GPU side of things will have no bearing on the CPU temps at all, so you could have got away with a 1030 (do they make those??) to test the temps!! :)

With a minimum temperature of roughly 70 to 80°C ,I'd say something is very much wrong. I re ommend you take it apart, unmount whatever cooler you have ,and verify that it's mounted correctly without any issues. Maybe something came loose .

You could also try booting into your bios & reading the temperatures from there ,but I'm guessing real temp gets them from the mobo sensors as well.

Whatever path you choose to take ,I would highly recommend you not use the computer until you resolve the matter

@jboydgolfer @phill

I appreciate your help guys , i really do .
here are some pictures of my Computer, Also i have been using this computer since last 4 months (after it started lagging due to high temps ,i didn't know about the temperature until now ) , i thought it was a graphic cards issue now i realize the CPU is not giving enough MHz to the processes.

Also i have never touched the cooler before so unless it automatically slides or unmounted i don't know what is causing all this . ( I HOPE IT IS JUST THE FAN OR THE COOLER ) , bought the computer from cyberpowerpc in 2016-Nov

FAN1 IS NOT WORKING

What could be the issue ?
Cooler ?
Fan ?
Processor ?
Motherboard?

Could the temperature have damaged the processor or the motherboard ? if so is there an like real temp to check the status/health of the hardware :) ?

I don't know which fan is number one ,but the most likely cause is poorly mounted heat sink or in your case ,cold Plate. Or the pump may have stopped working.

The cpu can handle a great deal of heat ,and it shuts itself down if it gets too hot ,so I highly doubt any damages been done.

also, im hoping you have those Rad fans pulling air inward. otherwise, theyre just pulling the hot ambient air from the GPU , over the rad and is less effective. i see which fan is #1, just one of the fans will work fine, push/pull is a waste of fans, and space, pull the non working fan, and have it as just pull.

which one is the Rad fan ?
the one at the top ? Fan3 ( the unnamed fan , that is at the top of the motherboard )

It is actually pulling air out of the chasses

i will change the whole cooling system thanks much .

Rad=radiator. The #1 fan ( you said isnt working) , pull it out, leave the working rad fan (#2) pulling outside air in.

keep in mind, my earlier advice still stands. Even if Every one of those fans was turned off, your temps shouldnt get SO high unless You ran VERY intensive CPU loads ....i still recommend You unmount, and clean, and Remount that H2O block. also, make sure it is flowing/running properly.

you have never mounted/unmounted that AIO/CPU cooler before? how did it get on ?

if The computer was built for You, it may be best to let a professional do it, as im unsure of your level of experience, and would hate to advocate You to make a decision that may or may not damage your PC.

I think i will try it , doesn't look that hard and yes it was pre built by the company for me

can you tell me 1 more thing

in the result of real temp 3 temperatures are for 4 different cores ?

realtemp displays core temps, correct. From left , to right , starting w/ core 0,core 1, core 2, & core 3.

4 cores wih hyperthreading, so 8 threads(displays as cores).although realtemp may only display the 4 physical cores

Keep in mind, if you're unsure about anything ,YouTube has 1001 videos ,in a variety of different languages, of a basically the exact process you're about to undergo . Watch till your comfortable

Oh, your going to need thermal paste BEFORE removing the cpu cooler, since whats there now will need to be replaced . I personally use Arctic Silver 5, or Noctua, mx5, just search "thermal paste", youll only need a tiny syringe

link to thermal paste

i gotta get to bed, just remember, watch the videos on Youtube, that will show you the way if You feel uncertain.

it was that damn cooler thing

i am so happy its all ok now :) ... got a new H60 cooler and placed it from bestbuy. he didnt applied the Arctic Silver 5 on it , just what it comes with , if anything goes south i use Arctic Silver 5 next time .
now i have 2 more fans in the front

also i am planning to attach (SLI) another 1080 founders addition that i had before .. i dont know if that will improve performance , because i just play Civilization6 ,counter strike and dota2.
so 3 fans are pumping air in and 1 is pumping air out (from where FAN 1 was ). You guys really helped me . awesome forum!

With new readings the temp is under 30 all cores :) :) :D

Check your Warranty and see if its still current
If it is contact them and ask for RMA ( you can either keep any replacement or resell to offset your cost of replacing the cooler )

as far as putting in the other gtx1080 it might be best to sell it well you can still get a good price then hold the cash for another card. you wont notice much of an improvement by adding it to your system. personally i would upgrade to 1440p if you are not there already and if you are at 8 gigs go to 16gigs with the cash you get from it.

We need more info than this. But your temperatures look OK. No need for more realtemp readings.

- what games and at what resolution/settings/FPS cap
- what GPU are you using now?

its EVGA 1080
i have been playing the same old games , CIVILIZATION VI and CSGO
i didnt change the settings , it should work fine , i remember i installed graphic update and it started to actup , after that it fixed itself
its not just the game , normal processing also is effected ( fb /flash games )

If it happens all of a sudden & without changes in hardware, I would suspect Windows 10 updates before anything else. I'll leave it to others to go deep on that one, because my own W10 experience is still pretty spotless, haven't had to tweak much.

A simple fix could be clean installing Windows, going straight to the latest update, and then clean installing drivers. This way you can rule out software for the most part so it also helps future troubleshooting.

Just an additional bit; If you want to get back up and running quickly, I'd suggest making a Ninite launcher. Its a one-click self installer for applications > https://ninite.com/ Huge time saver! Drop the ninite file on your USB stick that has the Windows setup on it, and you have your personal Windows setup 'on the go' :)

how often you clean your computer (desktop) for dust ?
do you open the component ( graphic card and processors and fans) and clean ?
is it something i should be looking at ?
