i need a nice gaming mouse. i now have the microsoft sidewinder mouse. its a good mouse but its getting old and buttons are starting to stick/mess up. i need something good but have been out of the mouse loop for a while halp!

i have an ocz dominatrix, its about a year old but i love it, not sure if they make it anymore. was only like 45 bucks has weights, programmable dpi, and macro's.

I prefer simple gaming mice that do the job just right;)

OCZ Equalizer, good for right and left handed. It beats any mouse for price/performance and warranty is great.

Just go for the SteelSeries XAI Laser Gaming Mouse. It's a better mouse but costs 3 times more money. Or you can always just look for the OCZ, stores still have it in stock in some places. But the SteelSeries Xai Laser is also a great choice just costs more than the OCZ.

Sticking can be easy solved by striping it and cleaning it although i don't know what you mean by messing up maybe the lens needs cleaning correctly.

I like Razer Diamondbacks my self as it gives me finger control plus it's good for left handed ppl too. But after using them for around 4 years i tend to use 3 of the 4 side buttons it has.

I was always partial to Logitech Mice for gaming.

I owned a G5, and G7 and both were excellent. Alot of hardcore gamers praise about the new G9x mouse but I can't justify paying 90 dollars for it, when logitech has another mouse that is practically Identical in specs with a more normal grip design even if I do claw my mouse.

I'd recomend the Logitech G500. Variable DPI up to 5700, same as the G9 and shaped more normally with 10 buttons and programmable ones for macro's etc.

I think it is running about 57 bucks now.

looked at the steal series but dayum thats expensive! there is a G9 variant for 69.99 anybody know anything about that?? is it better than the G500??

There are two G9's out there.

The G9 you asked about is only 2700 DPI.
The G9x has much higher DPI settings and what not.

The G9 is not better than the G500.

The G500 is practically a G9x twin, besides actual mouse design and is worth the price.

look into the Razer Naga it's marketed as a MMO gaming mouse but it's really nice for thoes of us who don't like to take our hands off WASD. i like having 1 though = under my thumb.

it's been great for FPS(s) so far since there aren't any mmos i've wanted to play (it did work well with AION but i didnt want to pay for that game after beta).

premium price for a premium mouse i've turned a few other gamers onto the Naga just for ease of use purposes.

obviously avoid this if you're a lefty.

Logi's G5(00), G7 or G9. All good mice. I am using the Sidewinder X5, which I approve of.

Theres alot of us that are left handed with the mouse. This is why the Steelseries Xai Laser and the OCZ Equalizer are a great choice for both left and right handed gamers.

intellimouse 3.0 w/1000Mhz USB hack

i have deathadder... I miss my IE 3.0. That i have found on razer mice is they have cursor drift at really low sens... put your mouse to the lowest sens so it doesnt hit edges of screen - and move it back and forward really fast and you will see cursor float to the bottom of the screen even if your hand stays at the same place on the mat.

if you dont like a heavy mouse, dont buy the g9, the grip (in my experience) didnt allow me to have the accuracy i had with the g5, or i have now with a razer lachesis. Also i share the Pc with my brother, so i have 2 users profile in windows, but the setpoint only detected one, if i changed to another user profile, it acted as if it was in another pc, so in short the g9 only worked properly in 1 user profile. Go for the g500, wich use the same setpoint version as the g9. So expect troubles with multiple users profile:D

The OCZs are just rebranded MX518s aren't they? I think one of them is.

I love my mx518. :D

I traded in my 518 for a CoolerMaster Sentinel Advanced;)

I actually went with a Logitech G500 and am pretty happy with it. It's a similar body to the MX518, only the material is a lot better for longer sessions, as it doesn't hold sweat much at all.

It's precise, has side scroll, programmable buttons(duh) and a range of dpis.

truthfully it's overkill, 5k dpi - you'll never actually NEED more than say 1800dpi - but i'm not going to not buy a decent priced mouse because it has MORE than i need.

it has the weight system if you are in to that. I always just leave the weights out. but yeah, recommended from use. I don't know how it technically compares to others.

Exactly why I've always used Logitech's G Series Mice. The things are built to last, customizable enough for different preferences and priced very well.

And I agree with the 5700 DPI Max, I doubt I'll ever use that since I too used 1800 dpi when playing Source. However with a new mouse and not playing for a year, it will be like riding a bike...Thing is I may try out the max dpi and adjust to it that way, instead of going right with 1800 dpi.

All in all, G Series mice you can never go wrong with

I am using a Saitek Cyborg V3. Unbeatable for the price, at least here. Almost half-price of the MX518 which I used previously (And which died after two years of faithful service) and I really can't feel any difference between the two accuracy-wise. It is also more comfortable for me, but that's a personal thing.

Get an A4tech x7 series gaming mouse, or oscar. Big companies like OCZ etc rebrand these mouses and slap double the price on them. I have a4tech X7 750F and it kicks ass. http://www.x7.cn/en/index.asp
