So I recently reinstalled Windows 7 Pro. I started using the installation, and really don't want to reinstall again, as I'm mid semester and need to be up and running. but windows didn't create an mbr at the front end of my primary partition. So I'm trying to figure out how to create one. I've managed to create the partition using a piece of partition manager software, but I'm not even sure what file system to format the mbr with, and once I do, what to put on it!!!

Need some serious help from someone with sufficient software experience to do this.

Without MBR the system would not have booted. So no worries mate! BTW, the MBR would never show up as a partition since it is essentially part of the partition table.

No, it's using the boot agent on the installation dvd. Without the dvd it won't boot.

If I remember right there are backups of the MBR every so often on the drive, but I've only ever tried that once (a few years back) and couldn't get it to work, but I'd seriously recommend you go get a PartEd Magic CD and work things out.

Just do a repair with the instillation disk. Disconnect all other drives
