I posted this in the networking thread as the issue is 100% my router. I have been going back and forth with Rockstar for about 6 months about this. I basically can't play RDO. I generally get an 0x20010004 or 0x20010006 error. I have been able to play about 4 - 6 hours of RDO since November.

I put all the port forwarding rules in and nothing made a difference. All the help threads end up with replacing the router as the ultimate solution and that is just asinine to me as it works some times. GTAV works without issue and every other game I have works without issue. So I just shit on that and moved on. However, I finally went direct through the cable modem and bypassed the router and lo-and-behold, RDO has no issues connecting. Go back through the router, connection issues. So, it is without question a router issue. But what?

The router in question is an RT-AC68U running the newest Merlin. As I said, I have gone through the https://support.rockstargames.com/a...Red-Dead-Online-PC-Connection-Troubleshooting support page and done everything in it. It must be a tertiary setting that I am overlooking. Rockstar support also gave me this which I have done:

Check your Open Network Ports
PlayStation Network uses the following ports for communication with game servers:
  • Port 465 (TCP)
  • Port 983 (TCP)
  • Port 1935 (TCP)
  • 3478 (TCP)
  • 3479 (TCP)
  • 3480 (TCP)
  • Port 3478 (UDP)
  • Port 3479 (UDP)
  • 10070 - 10080 (TCP)
We Recommend the following additional ports to be opened for Red Dead Online:
  • Port 6672 (UDP)
  • Port 61455 (UDP)
  • Port 61456 (UDP)
  • Port 61457 (UDP)
  • Port 61458 (UDP)
  • Ports 30211-30217 (TCP)

I am looking through all the settings of the router to see what may be there but I am stumped at this point. Ideas?

Do you have a UPNP option you can enable?

Do you have a UPNP option you can enable?

I do and it is.

Edit; There is also Secure UPnP

Edit 2: Interestingly, disabling it seems to have been the trick.

Edit 3: So completely disabling UPnP seems to have done the trick. I guess I should have done the opposite of what they told me lol
