My Logitech slim keyboard died. I have had it for 4 years now and it no longer receives USB power. Yes, i tried every different USB port on my case. Currently using crappy backup keyboard. I am going to replace it but I need advice. I do not want one of those loud mechanical keyboards. The entire house does not need to hear me typing away. What are some good options for non mech keyboards that are wired USB?

There are quiet mechanical switches (which are still noisier but FAR quieter than you are likely thinking), but you probably don't want to spend that kind of money as it's benefit is limited. The only benefit you gain from them anyhow without the click and feedback is reliability, which considering how long membrane keyboards last, doesn't mean much.

That said, I am unfortunately not versed in non-mechanical keyboards because I love my Model M. I can advise if you are after a quiet keyboard that's mechanical, but that's about all.

I would ask for others: What features are important to you? NKRO? Layout? Etc.

Just a reminder: it's Black Friday this week, so be sure to purchase your keyboard then =)

I say you PM a certain keyboard reviewer and see what sort of a holiday deal they might swing for you to fit your needs. ;)
