Requesting dark theme

Should TPU have the ability to go dark?

Requires a lot of skill with math.

Nothing to do with math...

Just create a switch which loads the page with a different CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) with different colors.

You may have missed the context of that exchange...
True, but he has a point, for developing, you need logic, more than math (math is an application of logic). You can suck at math and still be a great developer

EDIT: just to clarify, obviously, as always when you're developing, that depends on what you are developing, a game is not the same as a website or desktop app, for example

While you're not wrong, his point was wasn't really condusive to the topic and just isn't something users are going to do.

One day you will miss the light background..

Like cursive writing, and payphones :D

As fas as I can tell there are only two kinds of people not bothered by the lack of dark themes:
  1. Those working in very bright environments. Light themes compensate for better for more ambient light.
  2. Those working with low contrast settings/monitors. Light themes tend to be more readable in low contrast.
I, on the other hand, am a cave dweller (tm) so I prefer darker environments and working with good quality IPS monitors every time I switch to light-themed windows the whole room lights up. So I freaking hate light themes and don't understand why in 2023 any site worth its salt (TPU I'm looking at you) would lack a dark mode or even ask the users if one is needed. I don't even want to think how it is for fellow cave dwellers using high-end VAs or OLED monitors.

People, just get dark mode browser extensions.....

Or just turn the display off. lol that will be dark enough

With so much going-on on the screen sometimes dark mode is less appealing or if badly optimised it looks awful and distracting. I kinda like TPU as it is although it would have been nice to have a DM toggle for rare occasions

just to quote myself:
Please don't say "it's not needed because you can add x extension", if i wanted to bloat my browser for a feature that's pretty common nowadays, i would be asking for recomendations for extensions instead

Well, looks like 90% here want a Dark mode! Let's see a little customer service around here, please!
