ok asus striker extreme.

what i tried doing.

one stick of ram. 24 pin out battery out. change jumpers from 1-2 to disable. it says so on the board and 2-3 to enable. clr cmos button pushed down. (never removed 8pin)

so after i take the battery out i waited for a minute put it back in. unpress the clear cmos and then changed pins back to 2-3 to enable it for the board.

then connected gpu with rails and put in the 24atx. turned on the computer and got nothing. no beep instant close.

i also put the cpu fan in just to see if anything would happen and nothing. am i clearing CMOS correctly?

inless a lot has changed over the years all you need to realy do is short the jumper settings or if it has one just press that clear comos button. you shoulden't realy need to mess around with so many things just to reset bios to defaults.

Just hit the Clear Cmos button, no need to mess with jumpes or most boards these days

(Ninja edit) did the fans spin up and just a back screen with no post ?

ok i think i see the prob now, do you have any old ram that runs at a slower speed if so put that in then if it boots go into bios and set the ram voltage to 2.1 or 2.3 what ever your new ram runs at, save and exit bios.

at this point power down the pc as you dont want to damage the old ram. If i read that link right when you put your new ram in it should then boot up.

i feel your pain to i am also having probs with ram it sucks.

all you gotta do these days is press the clear cmos button if you have one or take the battery out then boot, then shutdown and place the battery back

1 beep. followed by 3.

i think its gpu and thats pretty much everything else works. sending gpu for rma. nothing on lcd screen i wonder why thats not working
