Resident Evil 7 wont read my Keyboard and mouse inputs!

Hello everyone,
Tried running this game with my Asus ROG GL552JX laptop and it wont respond at all to my keyboard and mouse inputs!
How am i supposed to fix this?
All help appreciated

This happens because that game locks on to the first device it sees plugged in that it recognizes as a control device. The most common cause of it therefore is having a gamepad plugged into your PC.

Just Google "RE7 won't recognize mouse/keyboard inputs", and you will see links on Steam discussing this, and a video showing how to get it working if you have a gamepad plugged in.

Just had to reinstall the game and its working now!!

I really don't think reinstalling it would have been necessary given the fixes I've read, but at least you got it running.
