A week or so ago, the right click on my mouse stopped working as usual when selecting text in documents, emails etc. I used to get the context menu to copy, paste, etc.

Now when I select text and right click, it simply unselects the text, no context menu pops up. And right clocking on misspelled words underlined in Word or Outlook does nothing anymore. Same behavior using my Logitech G5 mouse or the touchpad buttons on my laptop itself.

I poked around in the mouse settings in control panel but couldn't find anything.

*edit*: it seems to only be happening in Outlook and Word. Right click works fine in web pages and notepad, for instance. Is it an Outlook setting?

Just to verify, it ONLY messes up with MS Office products? What version of Office. And to verify, if you right-click on this page, for example, or a blank spot on your Windows desktop, you get the appropriate right-click context menus?

If so, then it would appear your mouse is working fine. When you mention the Logitect G5 mouse, is that a different mouse? In other words, are you saying you see this problem with two different mice and the touchpad too? If so, then definitely something going on in the computer. But we need you to narrow it down more.

And is the problem consistent? Have you done a full shutdown and reboot?

1. MS Office 365, it happens in Word and Outlook. If I highlight in other applications, seems to work fine, here's TPU:

2. Same result with the Logitech G5 and the Touchpad. I've had the G5 for years on this laptop.

3. Been happening every day for a week or more. Full shutdown every night.

Can't seem to get to that website:

That site is clean so clearly Wordfence (an unnecessary tool) is throwing up a false positive.

I use Office with Outlook 2016 and don't use 365 so can't help you there.

It's 365 Office (subscription) for Win7, so Word and Outlook are version 2016, same as yours

Try disabling any add-ins one at a time.

View, manage, and install add-ins in Office programs

Read in a thread, that, Babylon add-in can cause this to happen.

I didn't see any suspicious add-ins, only ones related to online meetings (Skype and Goto Meeting), plus a Bluebeam PDF printing add-in.

On another note, the problem has gone away this morning, no clue why! Hopefully it doesn't come back.
