I am switching my old router that I converted into a repeater for a newer one and my question is, can I convert the new one on one computer then move it to the computer I will use it on and have it work without having to change anything?

Hard to say. Does the new one have built-in repeater mode?

Thank you for your reply. No repeater mode or anyway to make it wireless repeater or wireless access point. I have since found out this router will only work in access mode connected through ethernet cable and not wireless. I also checked with DDWRT and they have no firmware for this router, it is a TP Link Archer A8. I also contacted TP Link and they said to upgrade the firmware and it would give me the WDS bridging option, but I had already upgraded it to their latest firmware and there was no WDS option. All it has is WPS. So I guess I will return it and just stay with what I have for now.
