RTX 3080 FE Issues: No sensors working & terrible FPS

I am having several issues with my new 3080 FE. In gpu-z and hwinfo, the only info that is available about it is the temp and memory usage, the rest just says 0. I tried opening overwatch, and I didn't even hit 30 fps in the main menu. I have installed the drivers multiple times, uninstalled with ddu in safe mode, and still nothing. I've also tried reseating it. This is extremely frustrating and google can't help me either. I've also tried updating my BIOS, to no avail

Can anyone help me?

Here is what my GPU-Z looks like:

what's the rest of your system?

how does the GPU look when you go into safe mode and wipe the drivers with DDU, reboot (without internet!) and open GPU Z with no driver installed?

are the sensor still like in the picture after doing this?

The only things that show up are cpu temp, something else cpu related, and 2 gpu things that both have 0’s. This is me going off memory, so thats why its a little vague.

It's really strange not even the clocks are picked up. That card is defective, if not outright fake (though GPU-Z warns you about the latter).

DDU and its kind can actually break things pretty badly sometimes, instead of making things better... i dont get peoples obesssion with using them on functional systems.

You dont say what OS you're on or what driver version you tried to install, but the obvious advice there is to try the latest of both - perhaps doing an in-place upgrade of W10 could repair anything damaged on the OS side as well

I am on Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit, on the latest version. The driver number is 465.89.

Try reseat cpu as well, since it's connected on first slot, also try put the card in second pci ex slot and see how it's behaving!

some people cant help themselves. they just have to mess with stuff.

so, 21H1?

I'd be trying an upgrade install of that (doesnt erase files, does undo any corruption or weird things people break tweaking the OS)

Huh, I only had 20H2 available. I just checked for updates and no 21H1 insight. There are a couple of other updates available though, so I'll try installing those. Pretty strange that they didn't appear a couple of hours ago though.

20H2 should have no issues at all with ampere cards (and this is why 'the latest' is a terrible idea, windows can stagger updates)

Download Windows 10 ESD | TechPowerUp Forums
^TPU thread where you can get the latest ISO's for installing or updating windows (they're in ESD format direct from MS, and you use a basic command line tool to decrypt them into an ISO). It's a little clunky, but guaranteed safe files.

Are you positive? It just came today from Best Buy
No, I'm not sure. But I don't know how else to read into a card that won't even offer readings about clock speeds.

This more smells like DOA regarding performance, assuming you bought it brand new. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a refurbished GPU sold as brand new due to global shortage of... everything.

Hi guys, I appreciate everyone’s help, but I finally figured it out. For some reason, it was not working properly when running on pci-e 4, but when I seitched it to pci-e 3 in BIOS, it now works great. Thank you all for your help!

Good to know. You're barely losing any performance by running it on PCIe 3.0 as it is:

Keep your eyes out for a new BIOS for your mobo then. Not that PCIe4 makes a difference so far, but since you paid for it...
